Setting up my mobile phone for email

Want to set up your mobile phone for email? It's easy, but remember you need to set up your mobile phone for internet before you can use this function.

Find "Mail"

Tap the menu icon.

Create new email account

If an email account has been created already, do the following instead: Tap the menu icon. Tap Add account. Tap the required provider or Other (POP3/IMAP).

Tap the required provider or Other (POP3/IMAP).

Enter email address

Key in your email address.

Enter password

If the display tells you that your email account has been set up, follow the instructions on the display to select more settings and finish the setup.

Tap Password and key in the password for your email account.

If the display tells you that your email account has been set up, follow the instructions on the display to select more settings and finish the setup.

Tap NEXT.

Select server type

Tap the field below "PROTOCOL".

Tap POP.

Enter username

Key in the username for your email account.

Enter incoming server

Tap the field below "POP SERVER" and key in the name of your email provider's incoming server.

If SingTel is your email provider, key in pop.singnet.com.sg as your incoming server.

Turn off encryption of incoming email

Tap the field below "SECURITY TYPE".

Turn off encryption of incoming email

Tap None.

Enter incoming port

Tap the field below "SERVER PORT" and key in 110

Tap NEXT.

Turn off SMTP authentication

Tap Login required until the function is turned off.

Enter outgoing server

Tap the field below "SMTP SERVER" and key in bbom-smtp.stm.com.sg

Turn off encryption of outgoing email

Tap the field below "SECURITY TYPE".

Turn off encryption of outgoing email

Tap None.

Enter outgoing port

Tap the field below "SERVER PORT" and key in 25

Enter outgoing port

Tap NEXT.

Enter account name

Key in the required name.

Enter sender name

Tap the field below "YOUR NAME" and key in the required sender name.

Finish setup

Tap FINISH.

Wait while your mobile phone retrieves new email.
