Want to set up your mobile phone for SMS? Follow these easy instructions.

Find "Message centres"

Tap the Menu key.

Scroll to Communic. and tap the Navigation key.

Scroll to Messaging and tap the Navigation key.

Tap Options.

Create new message centre

Tap Options.

Scroll to New message centre and tap the Navigation key.

Enter message centre name

Scroll to Message centre name and tap the Navigation key.

Enter message centre name

Key in SingTel SMS and tap the Navigation key.

Save the message centre number

Scroll to Message centre number and tap the Navigation key.

If you're on a pay monthly rate plan:

Key in +6596197777

If you're on a pay as you go rate plan:

Key in +6596400001

Tap the Navigation key.

Save the message centre number

Tap Back twice.

Select default message centre

Scroll to Message centre in use and tap the Navigation key.

Select default message centre

Scroll to SingTel SMS and tap the Navigation key.

Turn request for delivery reports on or off

If you turn on delivery reports, you'll be notified when your SMS has been delivered.

Scroll to Receive report and tap the Navigation key to select Yes or No.

Select validity period

If there is no connection to the recipient when you send an SMS, the message centre will try to deliver it later.

Scroll to Message validity and tap the Navigation key.

Select validity period

If there is no connection to the recipient when you send an SMS, the message centre will try to deliver it later.

Scroll to Maximum time and tap the Navigation key.

Step 20 of 22

Select data bearer

Scroll to Preferred connection and tap the Navigation key to select GSM/UMTS.

Step 21 of 22

Turn reply via same message centre off

Scroll to Reply via same centre and tap the Navigation key to select No.

Step 22 of 22

Exit

Tap the Menu key to return to standby mode.
