Want to learn how to write text, such as notes or messages? There are various ways of writing text. Follow these easy instructions.
Introduction
You can select a number of settings when keying in text.
The following steps show you how to change writing language, turn on word suggestion and write text.
Add writing language
The selected language determines which characters are available and which language is used for word suggestion.
Slide two fingers down the display starting from the top edge of your mobile phone.
Tap the settings icon.
Tap Language & input.
Tap Xperia™ keyboard.
Tap Writing languages.
To add a new writing language:
Tap the required language.
Tap YES.
Tap the required language until it's selected.
Tap the keypad icon next to the required language.
Tap QWERTY.
Tap OK.
Turn on word suggestion
When you turn on word suggestion, words based on the letters you've keyed in are displayed.
Tap Word suggestions.
Tap I never want to have any words or letters replaced.
Tap the home icon to return to the home screen.
How to write text
The following steps require that you're writing text and that the keypad is visible.
Write text
The language icon isn't available until you've selected a least two writing languages, see step 2.
Tap the language icon to select the required language.
Tap the letter keys to key in the required word.
A number of words based on the letters you've keyed in are displayed.
Tap the required word to insert it.
Write numbers and symbols
Tap 12!?.
Tap the required numbers or the required symbols.
Tap +=$ to see more symbols.
Tap Abc to return to text input.
Tap anywhere to dismiss
